Overview

Dates: 5–30 August 2024

Location: AUBSU x TheBUG highlight space; Northwest Gallery, AUB Campus

Working with TheGallery at Arts University Bournemouth, Talbot Woods Preschool presents Nature’s Playground: a Talbot Woods exhibition.

The children at Talbot Woods Preschool have been busy exploring the different environments around them and have used this as inspiration for the artwork on display.

They’ve spent a lot of time in their allotment area, watering plants, fruits and vegetables, and experimenting with different media to record what they're growing. They’ve also incorporated recycling into their creations by reusing materials within their artwork.

AUBSU's TheBUG network provides a dedicated platform for showcasing AUB student and alumni talent. TheBUG encapsulates everything the Students' Union does, which works towards the representation of student talent.

TheBUG spaces

TheBUG Spaces in and around campus can be booked by students to host exhibitions, workshops and more. The spaces are used to exhibit school and community exhibitions.

TheGallery's Schools and Outreach programme

TheGallery believes that learning does not just take place in the classroom, it happens everywhere.

We aim to showcase talent and inspire people to engage with the arts in an open and creative environment.

That’s why we offer a diverse programme of TheGallery activities for schools and young learners working with AUB’s Schools and Colleges team, offering young people the unique opportunity to engage with original artworks.

TheGallery regularly works with community groups, schools, colleges, and art clubs in this space, through our programme of activities with Schools and Colleges team.

The Main Gallery is a focal point for the campus and is an inspirational destination for students, staff, artists and the wider public.

AUB has a dedicated Schools team to support teachers and advisors to create more opportunities for young people to engage with creative arts and experience valuable insights into higher education and beyond.

We have in-school activities: Our inspiring and informative free in-school activities have been designed to fit easily into an assembly, tutor time or class session to give students an insight into the opportunities that are out there when planning their next steps.

Our Schools team can travel to your school or college to deliver these sessions in-person, or via an interactive virtual session, or they could be combined with a visit to our campus.
