Postgraduate Acceptance Deposit for Overseas Students
Postgraduate Acceptance Deposit for Overseas Students
To ensure you can secure a place on your course of choice, AUB requires offer holders to pay a Postgraduate Acceptance Deposit of £500 within 14 days of accepting your place on the course. By paying the £500 acceptance deposit, you are confirming your intent to meet the requirements for your offer and enrol at AUB on the upcoming term.
We recommend that you only accept your offer and pay the acceptance deposit once you are confident of your intent to study at AUB, as the acceptance deposit is non-refundable.
If you are not ready to pay the acceptance deposit, we recommend you do not accept your offer until that time.
The Postgraduate Acceptance Deposit is only refundable as a portion of the larger deposit required to secure your CAS and apply for your visa. Should your visa be denied, you may be eligible for a refund as outlined in the AUB Fees Payment Policy.
How to reserve your place on your postgraduate course:
- When you are ready to accept your offer, log in to the Applicant Portal and click ‘Accept’.
- The next day, you can pay the £500 acceptance deposit. You will need to log in to the International Payment Gateway and pay the £500 deposit by card. If you try to make the payment on the same day that you accept the offer, the Payment Gateway will not work. Please wait for the overnight process to run and update your account.
- Once the deposit is paid, you have confirmed your intent to study at AUB. Please ensure that you submit all required documents as outlined in your offer letter as soon as they are available.
- If you accept your offer without paying the acceptance deposit within 14 days, we will be unable to reserve your place on the course.
If you have any questions about the Postgraduate Acceptance Deposit, please contact the International Team at international@aub.ac.uk.
Frequently asked questions
The acceptance deposit can be paid through the International Payment Gateway at least 24 hours after you have accepted the offer. The Payment Gateway will not work if 24 hours has not elapsed between accepting the offer and logging into the payment gateway. If you encounter any problems with the International Payment Gateway, please email income@aub.ac.uk
If more than two weeks elapse between you accepting your offer and making the £500 payment, we remove your acceptance of the offer. Your offer will remain in place until you accept the offer and pay the £500 Postgraduate Acceptance Deposit within the 14-day window.
No – this deposit is only for students studying Master’s degrees or above. The deposit for Bachelor’s degree students will be the tuition deposit required to obtain your CAS. More information on the CAS and the tuition deposit is found on the visas and immigration page of this website.
The deposit is non-refundable, so we recommend that you pay the deposit when you are confident you will meet the requirements. You can also defer your offer should you need more time to meet the admission requirements, and the payment will carry over to the next start date.
The deposit is non-refundable so if you change your mind about studying at AUB, you will forfeit the deposit. You are welcome to defer your place to the next intake if that fits better with your plans and you would not be required to pay a new deposit.
No, this is not the same deposit, but will count towards the deposit required to obtain a CAS. Once you have met the conditions of your offer and your application is unconditional, the next step will be to apply for your CAS, which is proof of AUB’s sponsorship of your visa to study in the UK.
To obtain the CAS, you will pay a minimum of one third of your tuition as a deposit. If you have paid the acceptance deposit, you will only need to pay the balance to make up one third (or the required amount for your country’s deposit) to receive the CAS.
For more information on obtaining a CAS, please visit the visas and immigration page of this website.
If your visa is not granted, your tuition deposit can be refunded, minus an administration fee for issuing your CAS, in accordance with the Deposits Payment Policy.
Yes, the acceptance deposit will count toward your tuition deposit needed before we issue the CAS. This means that the amount you would need to pay when requesting the CAS will be £500 less.
More information on CAS application and required deposit is available on our website.
