Validation and franchise arrangements
Arts University Bournemouth achieved taught degree awarding powers in 2008. Using these powers, AUB is permitted to award degrees that are delivered and assessed at another provider.
Validation
In most cases, awards are made under a validation arrangement with AUB. This means that the University has reviewed the educational values of the provider, and its approach to learning, teaching and assessment, and has put in place the necessary mechanisms to provide assurance that the qualifications being awarded are in line with national standards and meet the expectations of AUB awards.
Students apply to, enrol with and are registered to and study at the partner institution. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive an award of AUB.

Franchise
Under a franchise arrangement, a course owned by AUB is delivered by a partner. AUB currently has a franchise agreement with Bournemouth and Poole College; details of the courses available can be found on our website.
