Date and time: 7 May 2026, 17.00–19.30

Location: Northwest Gallery Lecture Theatre (A025), AUB Campus

Join us for an exclusive evening with Professor Sir Peter Cook RA, one of the most influential figures in contemporary architectural culture. An alumnus and Honorary Fellow of Arts University Bournemouth, Sir Peter studied architecture at the institution then known as Bournemouth College of Art from 1953 to 1958, before continuing his education at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, graduating in 1960.

Sir Peter’s relationship with AUB has remained strong throughout his career, and he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 2008. In 2016, his first completed building in the UK, the multi-award-winning Drawing Studio, opened on AUB Campus, followed by the Innovation Studio in 2021, both designed as part of CRAB Studio. He's spoken of the deep significance of realising his first UK building at the University where he “learned his craft,” and has consistently championed the central importance of drawing across all creative disciplines.

His built work also includes projects in Graz (Kunsthaus Graz, with Colin Fournier), Berlin, Frankfurt, Madrid, Osaka, and university buildings in Vienna and the Gold Coast. In 2004, he was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize for the Kunsthaus Graz. He was knighted in 2007 for services to architecture and received an honorary doctorate from Lund University, Sweden, in 2010.

In conversation with Professor Christian McLening, Sir Peter will reflect on his remarkable career, creative philosophy, and enduring impact on architectural thinking and practice. The discussion will also explore his new book, offering insight into its themes, inspirations, and the ideas shaping his latest work.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear him share insights into his work and creative journey in what promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking evening.

Please note: Seating is limited for this event – booking is essential.

The evening will be followed by a drinks reception in TheGallery from 18.00–19.30. This is an open event, and no RSVP is required for the reception.
