Exhibition Overview

Dates: 29 January – 28 February 2025

Location: Northwest Gallery, AUB Campus

The exhibition showcases All Access AUB students’ experimental work, celebrating their creative talents and curious minds. Personal responses to the theme World in Motion were explored, as students discovered their own journeys, using a range of materials, ideas and imagination. The resulting work reflects the high quality of the students’ engagement and creativity.

Now in its fourth year, the All Access AUB programme welcomed a group of Year 12 students over the summer to give them a taste of what it's like to be a student and study a creative course at AUB. Students took part in a diverse range of workshops where they were encouraged by AUB tutors to explore and experiment with different mediums to develop their skills and portfolio of work.

All Access AUB

All those with the potential to benefit from higher education, no matter their background, deserve the opportunity to do so. At AUB, we're committed to making that happen, which is why All Access AUB was developed. All Access AUB is a unique and intensive programme of activity for post-16 students from underrepresented groups. It's specifically designed to support entry to creative higher education and students enrolled on the scheme take part in a summer residential, have their work included in an industry-standard exhibition, receive one-to-one portfolio support from AUB tutors, and attend a Transition to Creative Higher Education event. The exhibition is a chance to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of the young people so far.

All Access AUB Summer Residential

The All Access AUB participants were invited to attend a four-day and three-night summer residential here on AUB Campus, residing in our campus halls. Participants either chose to study an Art and Design or Media pathway and engaged in a wide variety of creative workshops to boost their artistic confidence, build new creative skills. and create a piece for the World In Motion Exhibition.

Project Partners

At AUB we believe that all those with the potential to benefit from higher education, no matter their background, deserve the opportunity to do so and we’re committed to making that happen.

We work closely with schools and colleges to provide an extensive programme of outreach activities with groups who are currently underrepresented in Higher Education.

The Access and Participation team provide a range of activity for students from underrepresented backgrounds, including the Being a Boy project and All Access AUB programme.

TheGallery is a national and international recognised and award-winning space. Throughout the year, we work on a variety of exhibitions, events, and projects with AUB stakeholders across the University to provide students and staff with opportunities to showcase their areas, courses, practices, and their work.

Providing a national and international public platform for the arts within the sub-region, while promoting the University’s shared passion for excellence in education, industry, and the sector, embodying the university’s promise to promote civic and cultural engagement for positive impact and our commitment to ensuring that education and the arts are accessible to all.

All Access AUB Exhibition: World In Motion is another example of one these collaborative project and partnerships – this time with All Access AUB, where TheGallery team leads on curating and exhibition design with its AUB project partners.

All Access AUB's summer residential creative workshops take place within the specially equipped the Foundation studios. The AAAUB Media pathway is taught by Deoval Trivedi, an experienced photographer, who works with the Foundation course supporting students across all specialisms.

The one-year foundation course gives students the chance to explore different creative areas before choosing the subject they want to take a degree in. It's the perfect way for students to find their creative voice and to boost their existing skills and portfolio. After successful completion of this course, students are awarded the widely recognised UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Level 3) and guaranteed a place on a BA degree at AUB upon successful completion (except the Acting and Creative Writing courses, which require auditions or written submissions).

Outreach Ambassadors are students from under-represented backgrounds who are employed as ambassadors to provide them with opportunities during their studies to develop skills and experiences which will have a significant impact on their employability upon graduation. They support the Access and Participation department on projects like assisting with workshops with local schools, community groups and third sector organisations and provide positive, relatable role models for other young people from under-represented backgrounds.

Outreach Ambassadors supported the teaching delivery and evening activities of the All Access AUB Summer Residential, with 3 contributing to the realisation of The World In Motion exhibition.

Euphemia Olaiya is currently in her final year of studying BA Film Production, Macy Esder in her second year of BA Textiles Design studies and Keira Hassard in her final year of our BA Fine Art course.
