BA (Hons) Design for Costume and Performance

Megan Shrives

As part of my Major Project, I've contributed to a range of live productions. I was the costume designer for DIVA, an AUB Dance production that examined the complexities of fame and the evolving interpretation of the term 'diva' in contemporary culture. This role allowed me to develop key skills in fabric sourcing, fitting etiquette and designing costumes suitable for movement and performance.

In addition, I worked as co-costume designer on I Like This Boy, a graduate film produced by Bournemouth Film School, and worked as a prop maker and buyer for the external touring production Spitfire Girls with Tilted Wig. These experiences strengthened my ability to combine different disciplines and collaborate with others.

Plans after degree

After graduation, I plan on travelling before continuing to develop my costume design skills in either film or theatre.
