Bethany Baldock
Bethany is a determined and self-assured young woman with a deep passion for the art of contemporary dance and an advocate for how it can benefit everyone.
Her journey in dance began at age 13 when she enrolled at The Lodge School of Theatre Dance, discovering a love for the art during her secondary school years. This early training laid strong foundations in various dance techniques and ignited a lifelong passion for the artform. Bethany then went on to study contemporary dance at AUB, where she's honed her skills and delved deeper into the world of contemporary movement.
Whilst studying, Bethany found her passion for choreographing and performing abstract contemporary dance. During her second year, she directed and choreographed a group performance for Silence: The Sound of Me. She then went on to co-choreograph, co-direct, co-produce and perform in a live performance titled 4 during her third year. Her work often explores the limits of movement and artistic expression and frequently delves into the relationship between emotion and form, producing visually striking and intellectually stimulating pieces that captivate audiences.
Beyond the stage, Bethany is a passionate supporter of community dance initiatives. Through her work with Dance for Parkinson's, she has witnessed first hand the transformative impact of dance, fostering a sense of joy, connection, and empowerment within the community and Bethany has been a dedicated advocate ever since.
