I am a hard-working and enthusiastic dance artist with a strong passion for teaching, performance, and choreography. Although I am versatile and skilled in various dance styles, I specialise in contemporary dance. I also work in street, modern, jazz, lyrical, ballet, and commercial dance.
My dissertation focused on the impact teachers have on the wellbeing of students, a topic I am very passionate about. This research has shaped how I want to approach classes and promote positivity to aspiring dancers.
For my final project at AUB, I compiled a choreographic portfolio that focused on choreography and my approach to facilitating rehearsals and teaching dance through various mediums. I choreographed a commercial music video inspired by Lady Gaga, as well as a live commercial performance titled Judas. Additionally, I took on the role of choreographer for a commercial photography student, where we developed a music video, Boys, influenced by choreographers Sergio Reis and Shay Latukolan. I also researched and created a contemporary piece, working closely with my dancers to craft something meaningful for each of them through workshops and research.
Plans after degree
After graduating from AUB, I plan to pursue a PGCE in Dance to achieve my Qualified Teacher Status. As well as working as a trainee teacher at a secondary school, while completing my qualification, I plan to teach classes in various styles at a private dance school in Hertfordshire. I am excited to further my professional development as a dance artist.
My passion for various aspects of the dance industry will enable me to explore different avenues in my career. My long-term goal is to become a secondary school dance teacher, and I am excited about the journey ahead as I work towards this goal. Before stepping into the classroom, I want to immerse myself in the dance industry and enhance my skills to become a more diverse and experienced educator.
