Course information

Suitable for all levels, it provides the opportunity to slow down, observe more closely and build confidence in your drawing whilst enjoying the creative process.

Sketching and drawing sit at the heart of artistic practice. Throughout history, artists and designers have used sketchbooks as personal visual journals – spaces to experiment, record moments, explore ideas and develop concepts for larger projects. This course encourages you to embrace that tradition, using your sketchbook as both a creative playground and a reflective tool.

You’ll explore the fundamentals of drawing and observation, learning how to confidently capture subjects that inspire you in your own unique style. Working with a range of materials, including pencil, pen, charcoal and watercolour, you’ll experiment across genres such as landscape, botanical studies and the human form. Through drawing from life, expressive mark-making and guided exercises, you’ll steadily develop both technical skill and creative freedom.

Whether you’re new to drawing or looking to refresh and reconnect with your practice, this course offers a welcoming space to explore, experiment and grow.

  • Experienced guidance from a practising artist specialising in sketching and watercolour
  • Learning to truly ‘see’ and respond to the world around you
