Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) has hosted a group of 26 mature students from China for a bespoke creative arts course this autumn.
The four-week programme was organised and hosted by AUB Academy as part of its bespoke short course offering and included the basics of fashion design, fashion jewellery and accessory design, fashion history, basic embroidery and beadwork, understanding fashion trends and colour palettes, fashion styling, fashion illustration, sketching, painting, printmaking and screen printing, all enhanced with daily practical English language classes.
The course also included a variety of cultural visits to key UK cities and locations to offer a truly immersive and impactful experience.
The students came via Arts Creativity Global (ACG), an international educational organisation that provides learning experiences to cultivate and enhance creativity.
“It was a pleasure to host students via ACG once again," says Pete McKinley, Manager of AUB Academy. "The group were all incredibly focused and committed to their four-week programme with many already working in the fashion industry or having a passion for fashion and the creative arts.
“This is the second group we’ve hosted from ACG; the first was a group of influencers from China who visited over the summer this year, who were equally as enthusiastic and a delight to have on campus.”
David Wei, Group Leader from ACG’s most recent visit, adds, “AUB Academy delivered an excellent bespoke programme. The professionalism and passion were admirable, and the students gained a lot.
“It was a pleasure collaborating with AUB Academy. Our shared values made the cooperation smooth and effective, and the students’ growth in creative skills and cultural awareness is a result of AUB’s efforts.”
