This hands-on fine art course has been specially designed for budding artists aged 12-15 to experiment and explore a wide range of creative techniques.

This course has been developed for aspiring artists aged 12-15.

Does my young artist need any qualifications or experience?

No. This is an introductory course, so your young artist doesn't need any previous experience, just buckets of enthusiasm!

What's included in this price?

  • All course materials and resources
  • Everything your young artist will need to take part in the course will be provided by us – no hidden costs!

  • Classes are practical, so wear clothes that you don't mind your young artists getting messy
  • Drinks and snacks for break time and duration of class; please ensure snacks do not contain nuts
  • It's strongly advised phones, tablets and other valuables are not brought to class. Any personal possessions are the responsibility of your young artist and AUB will not be liable for any loss or damage

About this course

This hands-on fine art course has been specially designed for budding artists aged 12-15 to experiment and explore a wide range of creative techniques in drawing, painting, collage, 3D work and other inspiring artistic methods in an encouraging and creative environment.

As well as finessing a range of creative skills, your young artist will also learn key skills necessary for pursuing further education in a creative field, such as the ability to discuss their own work and the work of others with confidence.

Self-motivated projects and development will be encouraged. At every opportunity your young artist will be given support and advice to enable them to engage fully and push their creative boundaries and free their imagination.

They’ll be working in our specialist studio spaces that have been home to our award-winning graduates, using tools and equipment that the creative industries rely on.

  • Introduction to fine art
  • Build core principles
  • Explore and develop fundamental skills, including proportion, line, volume, chiaroscuro, and colour
  • Drafting skills

At the end of the course your young artist will:

  • Possess improved artistic skills
  • Have developed sound knowledge of fine art and related core principles
  • Have an appreciation and meaningful understanding of the fine art genre
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of the benefits of working in a group to share and appreciate work produced
  • Be the proud owner of a portfolio of work that they’ve completed throughout the course and showcases the development of their skills
  • Have increased confidence in their own skills
  • Have boosted creativity and imagination
  • Feel inspired by the new skills they've learnt and from sharing ideas with new friends
  • Have the foundations to continue creating beyond this course
