Legal and Governance
Vice-Chancellor pay is a matter of public record and is published each year as required by the Office for Students. You can find this information in our annual financial statements and in the remuneration documents and minutes of the Remuneration Committee.
AUB’s Remuneration Committee provides structured governance for the framework of remuneration decisions of senior staff who are remunerated outside the National Framework Agreement and new JNCHES process. The Remuneration Committee also determines the conditions of service and remuneration of the Vice-Chancellor; and assures itself that the University’s employment policies in relation to other senior post holders are appropriate.
The Vice-Chancellor and CEO's salary accounts for the responsibility of managing Arts University Bournemouth – a specialist arts university – with a large community of staff and students.
N.B. The current remuneration package for the Vice-Chancellor consists of salary and private medical insurance benefit (to the value of approximately £1,000).
Lisa Mann is the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of AUB, a role she assumed in January 2025 following the retirement of Professor Paul Gough.
Her appointment reflects a distinguished career in higher education, marked by innovative leadership and a commitment to advancing creative disciplines. Her role as AUB's Vice-Chancellor and CEO follows posts as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (2024) and Executive Director of Innovation (2022–24) at the University.
