MA Painting graduates from Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) are exhibiting their final project work at Boscombe Arts Depot (B.A.D.) as part of the University’s 2025 Postgraduate Summer Shows.

We Want You to See includes works from large-scale canvases to miniature works, showcasing the breadth and depth of AUB's MA Painting course.

Sam Jackson, Senior Lecturer on MA Painting, comments: "This exhibition marks the final stage of the journey for these postgraduate graduates on MA Painting, but the very beginning of exciting and professional careers for them all in the future.

“Encompassing the contemporary and traditional in making and thinking, the works are compelling, current and highlight the passions and concerns of an international and diverse group of students. These paintings also highlight the huge development, confidence, leaps of faith, commitment and level of professionalism that these newly graduated students have achieved.”

“We would like to thank the team at B.A.D. for the support and commitment to MA Painting."

We Want You to See is showing from 19–26 September, with a private view taking place on 18 September.

MA Painting defines its practice through the particularities of the painted field. The making materiality of the unique object, a globally acknowledged cultural history and the dedicated and dynamic relationship of the painted object to the painter. Painting in the 21st century is vital and relevant. Contemporary painting and what it can be, do and declare is meaningful. We ask how, why and according to what means.

The MA Painting course explores this innovative and expansive territory in depth, dedicating itself to specialist study at postgraduate level.

AUB and TheGallery were delighted to work with Lighthouse, Poole, previously in 2022 and again in 2024, also exhibiting the work of our MA Painting students.
