Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and TheGallery are delighted to work with Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts, to feature work from our MA Painting students. The work will be exhibited as part of Snapshot 22 – Postgraduate Show 2022.
AUB’s Shows are a celebration of the achievements of our 2022 graduating students, with the MA and MRes Show ending the season. Our MA Painting students are exhibiting their final major work (Show) at Poole Lighthouse.
Painting defines its practice through the particularities of the painted field: the making materiality of the unique object, a globally acknowledged cultural history and the dedicated and dynamic relationship of the painted object to the painter.
The works created for this exhibition are the outcome of a dedicated programme built upon the cross-fertilisation of practical application with an understanding of contemporary painting discourse. Individual studio practice, theoretical understanding, visiting experts in the field, critiques and debate, studio visits. These creatives are mapping their position within the painted territory.
The exhibition looks to establish a new and distinctive voice in Painting study, both nationally and internationally.
