Course: BA (Hons) Commercial Photography
Graduated: 2012
After graduating, Mitch Payne knew he wanted to pursue still-life photography, having completed a handful of small commercial jobs and shooting lots of personal work at the University. Shortly after, one of his personal projects shot towards the end of his degree grabbed the attention of an agent in London. After being repped, moving there and making ends meet with e-commerce work, he began to gain regular clients while shooting in a shared studio space in East London.
Over the years, Mitch has gained valuable commercial experience through networking with previous peers from his studies, as well as photographing products for major brands. Notable names include Nike, which he earned after editing studio examples shot on the same night of the pitch. This was followed by a large campaign for TFL, which quickly escalated his career through industry exposure.
Currently, Mitch is working on editorials for British Vogue and Soho House, as well as finalising an exciting scientific personal project he hopes to reveal soon.
