I never imagined that an online MA in Interior Design could feel so immersive, inspiring, and transformative. But throughout my studies, I was fully immersed, continuously challenged, and absolutely loved every second of it!

When I started looking for a Master’s program, I knew I wanted something that would expand my creative boundaries while giving me the flexibility to balance my studies with work and life. MA Interior Design (Online) at AUB stood out because of its innovative approach, industry connections, and the sheer depth of exploration it offered. I wasn’t just looking for another degree – I wanted a space where I could push myself, refine my practice, and develop a strong, research-led foundation for my future career.

One of the most exciting aspects of the course has been discovering and refining my own specialism. My Master’s project focused on biophilic design in urban kindergartens – a topic that perfectly combined my love for interior spaces with my passion for sustainable, human-centric design. I wanted to explore how nature-inspired environments could enhance children's development, even in space-constrained cities like London. The research challenged me, the design process thrilled me, and by the end, I felt like I had truly contributed something valuable to the field.

There were so many incredible moments throughout the course! One of the highlights was diving into the Sustainable Futures unit, where I got to explore real-world applications of sustainability in design. It wasn’t just about theory – we engaged with cutting-edge sustainable practices, experimented with material choices, and debated real challenges in the industry.

Another unforgettable experience was collaborating with peers from different backgrounds. Even though the course was online, the sense of connection and support was unbelievable. We shared ideas, challenged each other, and celebrated our wins (big and small!)

Of course, it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Balancing research, design projects, and life was a juggling act. But looking back, those moments of struggle were also the ones where I grew the most. The course taught me not just technical skills, but also resilience, adaptability, and confidence in my design voice.

This MA has completely transformed my perspective on interior design. It’s given me the tools to approach design more critically, the confidence to push boundaries, and the vision to create spaces that are not just aesthetically pleasing but meaningful and impactful. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next!

To anyone considering AUB’s MA Interior Design (Online) – if you’re ready to be challenged, inspired, and creatively empowered, go for it! It’s an experience that will shape not just your career, but the way you see and engage with the world of design.
