MA Interior Design (Online) Welcome Guide : Next Steps

We're delighted that you've chosen to join our creative community at Arts University Bournemouth. We can't wait to see what you'll create.

Here to help you get settled in

Once you've met all of your offer conditions and enrolment opens we'll send you two emails.

  • One email will invite you to complete Online Enrolment. This will require you to upload a passport-style photograph, which will be used to create your AUB Student ID card. You'll also need to upload scans or photographs of your identification. You'll need to complete Online Enrolment as soon as possible – you can't start your course until you've completed Online Enrolment.
  • The second email will contain instructions on how to set up your AUB student login. Once completed, this will give you access to your AUB email account, the myAUB app and Canvas, the platform where all of your teaching will take place.

Online Enrolment will open a few weeks before the start of your course. If you haven't received emails from the AUB Admissions team about your application by this date, please contact admissions@aub.ac.uk ASAP to ensure that your application has your correct email address. If you have any queries about your Online Enrolment, please contact onlinestudentrecords@aub.ac.uk.

Before you start

Here's a handy list of things to do before you arrive to help make your first weeks run smoothly. Check out the useful contacts list at the bottom of this page if you need help with any of these. Make sure you’ve:

  • Paid your £500 acceptance fee (we can’t open enrolment until this has been paid)
  • Applied for your Student Loan (if applicable) or arrange funds to pay your tuition fees privately.
  • Checked that you can log in to the AUB Applicant Portal.
  • Completed (if applicable) disability disclosure in the AUB Applicant Portal.
  • Prepared for your course – do some pre-course reading or complete any pre-course projects (if applicable) – all this info can be found on the Preparing for Your Course page.
  • Checked that you have the right ID documents photographed/scanned for online enrolment (see the Enrolling online section for more details).
  • Completed your online enrolment through the AUB Applicant Portal.
  • Set up your AUB IT login to access your email and Canvas.
  • Downloaded the myAUB app.

You don’t have to tell us about your disability, but it can be useful if you do. You’ll have access to more support and help for your studies. Simply complete the online disability disclosure in the AUB Applicant Portal before your course starts, or in MyAUB at any point in your course.

Visit our Disabled Students page to find out more about disability support.

If you've been informed that you need to supply proof of your results, please email these to admissions@aub.ac.uk. Don’t forget to include your name, course and AUB ID number on the email so we can find your application.

In order to process your results, we need clear scans/photographs that show your full name, the qualification name, the subject studied and the result grade and the name of your exam centre. We can't accept an email from you with your results listed – we need a photo or scan of your certificate/transcript (or if you’ve only just got your results, we can accept your results slip instead).

English language qualifications

If your offer conditions ask for IELTS or another accepted English language qualification, we’ll need those to be sent through too. Please make sure you’re taking the right test for your AUB course – there’s a handy list on our website.

If you have any questions about our accepted English language qualifications then get in touch – please email the Admissions team, with the subject line: “English language qualifications”.

You are required to complete Online Enrolment before commencing your studies.

Online enrolment will be available on your AUB Applicant Portal so make sure you know your login details. If you have any problems logging in check out our Applicant FAQs on our Apply page or if you haven't received emails from us about your application, then please contact admissions@aub.ac.uk ASAP for help.

UK students

Please have photographs or scans of one of the following options of ID:

  1. Full valid passport
  2. Photo ID (e.g. driving licence), plus either correspondence from Student Loans Company/Student Finance England or original birth/adoption certificate

A driving licence alone won't be accepted without the correct accompanying documents as listed in option two.

If you’ve taken a loan out with Student Finance England, you’ll need to complete the Online Enrolment before we can confirm your registration. Once completed, SFE will release your maintenance loan to you on the first day of term.

Students with settled or pre-settled status

Please have the following:

  1. Photograph or scan of your full valid passport
  2. Your Immigration status “Share Code”

Students living outside the UK

If you’re living outside the UK, you will need the following to enrol online:

  1. Full valid passport

Help with online enrolment

If you have any problems with online enrolment, please contact Student Records by emailing onlinestudentrecords@aub.ac.uk.

If you have problems setting up your AUB student login or accessing your AUB email/myAUB app, please visit support.aub.ac.uk to log a ticket.

Your username and password

Once you complete online enrolment, you'll be emailed with an individual username and password to access AUB’s online resources and computing. These emails should be sent out within three hours of completing online enrolment, so please be patient if it doesn't arrive straight away and keep an eye on your spam/junk folders.

Upon receipt of your password, you'll be asked to change this to one of your choosing. If you forget your username or password, please visit support.aub.ac.uk for help with resetting your password.

myAUB

myAUB is an online portal and a smartphone app that gives students access to email, calendar information, learning environments, software training, cloud storage and details such as your course information on Canvas.

You can log in to myAUB as soon as you have your AUB username and password.

The smartphone app is available from both Android and iOS app stores by searching for "myAUB".

AUB email account

All students are provided with a Microsoft Office 365 email account, which uses your student number as the email address with your name as the alias, i.e. Sally Smith = 12345678@my.aub.ac.uk.

This email address is the primary way the University will keep in touch with you while you're studying with us.

Canvas

Your access to Canvas will be through myAUB. It usually takes 24 hours after enrolling before your access will be set up and may take a few days before all of your units are added to Canvas.

If you have problems with your access to Canvas, please visit support.aub.ac.uk to log a ticket.
