During my third year, I had the pleasure of working on three different AUB Productions shows: Emilia!, This Happy Breed and Still Here. This gave me the opportunity of making a wide variety of womenswear and working and collaborating with so many of my peers. I made a late 16th century ensemble, a 1930s bias cut dress, a 1930s raglan coat, a 1930s cloche hat and a medieval-inspired 1960s princess dress.
I’m still not sure I’ll ever get over the standing ruff I made, or how sparkly my princess dress turned out. I’m incredibly proud of the work I was able to create over my third year and I can't wait to keep sewing and learning post-graduation.
Plans after degree
I’m going to take a break for a bit and see some live theatre and exhibitions, but after that I'm excited to start making my cousin's wedding dress, knit more and hopefully find employment.
