Anya Cheeseborough

Over my three years at AUB, I have developed genuine confidence in my skills and better understanding of historical dress. My main focus is construction and translating costume designs into realistic, 3D forms.

In my final year, I created costumes for lead characters in AUB Productions' Emilia! and This Happy Breed. I worked very closely with others from different courses, collaborating with actors, designers, make-up artists and supervisors. This took place in highly professional environments, which enhanced my knowledge of fitting etiquette.

For my final major project, I was tasked with creating costumes for the lead character Frank Gibbons (played by Daniel Hancock) for This Happy Breed. This project saw a significant rise in my sewing abilities, specialising in tailoring, and placed a strong emphasis on hand stitching – one being continuous stab-stitching – which helped me refine my craft in preparation for future career in the industry.
