Drawn from Arts University Bournemouth’s costume archive, Something Borrowed explores nearly 150 years of wedding dress, revealing the women, lives and stories held within these cherished garments.

From family heirlooms and cultural symbolism to changing fashions and silhouettes, each dress offers a glimpse into the circumstances, aspirations and identities of the women who wore them. Together, they form a collection of treasured memories preserved as tangible connections to the past.
