Senior Lecturer for BA (Hons) Textiles Design, Kelly Bailey, has recently been part of a collaboration for creating Paris fashion brand Ungaro Men’s Winter Collection for 2025–26.

The look book, presented at Paris Men’s Fashion Week FW25, was designed by Philippe Paubert and was inspired by the rugged landscapes of Scotland through rural motifs and a floral, muted colour scheme.

Ungaro has a rich history in fashion, known for their eye-catching prints across both womenswear and menswear collections that focus on heritage and tailoring.

"Collaborating with such a prestigious fashion house has been an inspiring experience, allowing me to bring my artistic vision to a collection that embodies both heritage and celebration of pattern," Kelly comments.

Kelly has previously worked in print design and fashion illustration for 20 years – in this latest project, she developed intricate thistle motifs and bold graphic notes as an homage to Scotland’s national emblem, reflecting on heritage and nature. The final, diverse set of prints acted as pops of colour amid the collection’s muted colour scheme, adding punchy depth and contrast.

The final collection were in thanks to Kelly’s ongoing involvement with graphic design collective Fida, a global platform celebrating fashion, illustration, and art, coupled with her specialism and industry history in textile design.

"I appreciated the creative freedom to interpret these visuals in my own way, starting with hand-drawn and painted motifs before developing the designs further.

"Seeing my work come to life not only in the garments but also as printed lengths forming the backdrop of the Fashion Week presentation was a special moment."

The Ungaro Winter 2025 Showcase is available to watch now, featuring Kelly’s prints both on display and as part of clotheswear.
