About this event

Earlier in 2024, it was confirmed that AUB had secured a £1.6 million grant from Research England to create a new Research Centre: Plastic Innovation and Curation. The centre will explore how plastics degrade over time or behave in different environments, resulting in research that'll have international relevance to both museum collections and modern manufacturing.

This exciting evening will officially launch the new lab at the PlastIC Research Centre, as well as its website, an online hub for sharing updates about research projects with the Heritage sector, Industry materials projects and for our materials testing consultancy work.

Light refreshments will be provided, and at 17.30, there’ll be a launch speech.

Parking

There's parking available on campus; however, you’ll need to provide AUB with your car registration when you confirm your attendance.

As part of the AUB environmental commitments, we encourage all our staff, students and visitors to use sustainable methods of commuting such as walking, taking public transport and cycling.

We have a Beryl Bike hub on site, as well as a bus stop immediately outside the campus on Fern Barrow Road, which is served by Morebus routes 6, 6a, 15, 17 and 36, as well as UNIBUS routes U1, U2, U3 and U4.
