Two BA (Hons) Fine Art graduates from Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) have had their work selected for inclusion in The Platform Graduate Award.

Returning to Aspex Portsmouth, the new exhibition features the work of AUB graduates Maria Aoyama and Yasmin Seyfollahi, celebrating the region's most exciting, emerging artistic talent.

"The Platform Graduate award has been so important in providing the opportunity to continue developing my practice in a time of drastic change," says Maria.

"Like other graduates, I found myself in a state of Limbo following graduation, moving out of my university home and figuring our what my next steps will be. Aspex has given me a sense of structure and support through a community that I missed having left AUB, and it is so exciting to have the chance to show my work alongside a cohort of talented artists in such a wonderful space."

Aspex Portsmouth is currently the Industry Patron for AUB’s MA Fine Art course, sharing their experience and industry insights with students.

This year’s exhibiting artists also include Stacey Allan and Eloise Gleave from UCA Farnham, Grace Atkins and Yasmin Jabi from Winchester School of Art, Roxanne Bennett and Kilandy Buange from Southampton Solent University, and Paul Coman and Eddie Stenstrom from University of Portsmouth.

The award will feature exhibitions at three partner organisations across the South East and West including Aspex Portsmouth, Modern Art Oxford, Phoenix Art Space in Brighton and MIRROR at Arts University Plymouth.

The Platform exhibition is open from 24 October to 30 November.
