TikTok star sarahnewsfx, BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance graduate Sarah New, has been crowned winner of the Creator Revolution competition. Sarah has won a raft of prizes, including a £75,000 professional contract and her own make-up range.

The aspiring Make-up Artist developed a huge following over social media channels TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube while studying at AUB, demonstrating outstanding make-up creations for her 2.4million followers.

The Creator Revolution competition, which attracted more than 8,000 entries from across the world, saw Sarah compete in six challenges, ranging from soft glam to cartoon and ultimate eye to spooktacular. Sarah was then judged by a range of creative industry experts, including fellow TikTok star Abby Roberts and Glow Up 2019 winner Ellis Atlantis.

As winner of the competition, Sarah will now take part in a Global Product Range Collaboration with Make-up Revolution, launching with major worldwide retailers next year. The skilled artist, who graduated from AUB last year, will feature in Global Product Launch campaigns and will take advantage of a money-can’t-buy PR and mentorship package.

Sarah’s love for make-up began when she took part in dance classes at primary school, and she is hoping that her efforts will inspire a whole new generation of aspiring artists. Sarah said: "Whatever your passion is, start filming and posting content about it! You can’t underestimate the power of social media today and it could lead to you doing what you love full time and open a whole new world of opportunities.

“It doesn’t have to be perfect; my make-up videos were awful at first! But like anything, it just takes practise and consistency, if you enjoy something chances are thousands or millions of other people will too! You always have something new to bring to the table.”

Sara Taylor, Course Leader for Make-up for Media and Performance at AUB, said: “We’re so incredibly proud of all of our graduates, who go on to work in a hugely diverse range of skilled and successful roles across the creative industries.

“Here at AUB, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to have enjoyed watching Sarah’s work, portfolio and skills grow throughout her studies with us, and it’s been an absolute pleasure to be able to see her launch her career through her resourceful and talented creations seen through this competition.”

Sara added: “Our congratulations to Sarah, we’re really looking forward to seeing what she’ll achieve next!”

AUB’s BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance course is well-known for the success and quality of its extraordinarily successful alumni, including Sophie Baverstock, winner of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-up Star, Kate Wakefield, Prosthetic Make-up Artist on Maleficent II, and Flora Davis, Make-up artist for television dramas Grantchester, The Durrells and Liar, Liar.

More than 20 AUB Make-up graduates worked on season two of Amazon Studio’s Carnival Row, under the watchful direction of AUB Honorary Fellow Nick Dudman, a BAFTA award-winning Make-up Designer who brought Star Wars’ Yoda to life and designed prosthetics for the Harry Potter films.
