Who's this course for?

This course has been developed for aspiring artists aged 13–15.

Please note: we can't accept young artists below 13 years-old on this course.

Does my young artist need any qualifications or experience?

No. This is an introductory course, so your young artist doesn't need any previous experience, just buckets of enthusiasm!

What's included in this price?

  • All course materials and resources
  • Lunch, served in the Refectory at AUB
  • Everything your young artist will need to take part in the course will be provided by us – no hidden costs!

Classes are practical, so wear clothes that you don't mind your young artists getting messy.

Lunch is included in the course fee; however, you may wish to provide additional drinks and snacks for break time and duration of class. Please ensure snacks don't contain nuts.

It's strongly advised that mobile phones, tablets and other valuables aren't brought to class. Any personal possessions are the responsibility of your young artist and AUB won't be liable for any loss or damage

About this course

In this dynamic workshop, students will learn how to develop short performance pieces that seamlessly combine live acting with digital elements like video, projections, and sound effects. Working collaboratively, they'll explore storytelling techniques, multimedia integration, and technical skills to create engaging, professional-quality performances in a supportive environment.

This course offers a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of traditional theatre by incorporating cutting-edge digital media. Through hands-on projects and teamwork, your young artist will build confidence in both their creative and technical abilities, culminating in a live showcase of their innovative performances.

  • How to develop and script multimedia performance pieces
  • Techniques for integrating visual effects, video, and sound into live performance
  • Creative collaboration and teamwork in multimedia production
  • Basic skills in using digital tools for performance design
  • How to tell stories that effectively combine physical acting with digital media

Participants will present a fully developed short performance that highlights their skills in acting, digital media, and visual storytelling.

They'll leave with a deeper understanding of multimedia theatre and a dynamic showcase to share with friends and family, celebrating their creativity and technical achievement.
