The University has an international reputation in the film business. Graduates have worked on Oscar-winning productions, BBC documentaries and dramas, and for major studios such as Dreamworks.

What you'll study
As one of the few courses in the UK with full membership status for CILECT, as well as the Skillset Accreditation, BA (Hons) Film Production gives you practical experience of the many aspects of filmmaking alongside historical and conceptual knowledge that accentuates the importance of research. You will learn the skills needed to take on key creative and production roles in both live action drama productions and documentaries.

PhD by Creative Practice, Filmmaking Diploma, PGDip in Journalism, MA History
Jonathan became Course Leader of the BA (Hons) Film Production course at AUB in April, 2017. He is also a filmmaker and Senior Lecturer in Documentary. He recently completed a PhD by Creative Practice at the University of York. Prior to his film and academic career, Jonathan worked as a news journalist on a number of national newspaper titles.Full profile

Your Interview and Portfolio
If you meet our entry requirements, we’ll invite you for an interview and ask you to bring your portfolio with you. We will be particularly interested in how you have responded to a given brief, together with any self-initiated projects. We will expect to see contextual work, which can include a short five-minute film or showreel, or an extensive visual portfolio.
