Industry engagement

The course has established links to industry and a strong alumni community that includes graduates from the past 30 years. Industry contacts and alumni deliver regular lectures to provide students with insight, experience, and advice on how to enter industry. Industry contacts also provide work-placement opportunities and live briefs for collaborative projects.

We also have success in national competitions including the Patterns for Fashion and Patterns for Performance competitions.

Our commitment to shaping and influencing the future is embodied through our groundbreaking BFS Funding Futures program that connects schools, graduates, current students, and industry partners in a connected, collaborative and innovative eco-system.

Alumni

Our approach encourages students to break boundaries and tell stories that truly resonate. Our alumni include Oscar-winning assistant costume designers Eleanor Landgrebe (Wicked) and Eleanor Bull (Poor Things), costume designers like Sophie Canale (Saltburn, Bridgerton) and Claire Collins (Father Brown) and directors like Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Shuan of the Dead), Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), Nick Rowland (Calm with Horses ), and Molly Manning Walker (How to Have Sex), we provide a powerful network for success.
