Meet our Industry Patron – HCC Property Services

Meet the Industry Patron for BA (Hons) Architecture (Part 1 RIBA/ARB) – HCC Property Services, the in-house architecture and design department of Hampshire County Council.

This multi-disciplinary practice has developed a particular reputation for good quality school design and is also notable as the only sizeable public-sector county architecture studio remaining in the UK. The team built its reputation in the 1980s under the leadership of Sir Colin Stansfield Smith, who arrived in 1974 and was county architect until 1992. In 1991 he won a RIBA Gold Medal award as a result of his work at Hampshire County Council.
