Studying costume at AUB has allowed me to refine my construction skills whilst developing a deeper understanding of historical accuracy across a broad range of periods. Through practical projects, I’ve learned how to interpret a design and translate that into a physical costume.

During my final year, I focused solely on men's tailoring. I made a costume for the Sleeping Beauty pantomime at the Oxford Playhouse the summer just before Level 6, which then led to the opportunity to create a late-19th century, three-piece cycling suit and cape for AUB’s costume archive. The suit consists of a Norfolk jacket, single-breasted waistcoat, knicker-breeches. The costume is completed with a matching 19th century cape.

My Major Project was to create a 1930s tailcoat suit for a production of La Traviata by Hurn Court Opera. The costume is made up of a black tailcoat, white V-neck waistcoat and matching black trousers.

My love for bespoke tailoring is ever-growing, and I am eager to keep learning and deepen my understanding of the craft.
