Arts University Bournemouth’s Marketing team are celebrating after six nominations and four wins, including Gold and Silver Awards, at this year’s HEIST university marketing awards.

The HEIST Awards recognise excellence and innovation in higher education marketing and are held each year at Manchester’s Kimpton Clocktower Hotel. Hosted by BBC The Apprentice: You're Fired! Presenter and Comedian Tom Allen, HEIST 2022 saw more than 70 institutions competing for Bronze, Silver, and Gold prizes across 15 categories.

The team’s work to develop and create AUB’s new digital prospectus won the Gold Award for Best Student Recruitment Publication or Prospectus, while its campaign Tailoring a Better Integrated Student Journey won a Silver Award for Best Prospective Student Journey/Campaign.

And the wins continued throughout the evening, as the team also clinched Silver for Most Effective Use of Digital or Social with its innovative integration of social media within the university’s HE Marketing Plan.

Lauren Bowling, the University’s In-House Graphic Designer, also scooped the ceremony’s top individual achievement accolade, winning Gold for the CIM Higher and Further Education Rising Star Awards and inheriting the title from 2021 winner Charlotte MacKay, AUB’s Senior Digital Communications Officer.

Simon Pride, Head of Recruitment and Marketing, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the work done by our Marketing Team, especially throughout the pandemic, where we were tasked with looking at new approaches towards student recruitment and engagement.

"Our HEIST Awards this year particularly acknowledge brilliance within our team, from the outstanding work of Lauren Bowling, our In-House Graphic Designer, to dedicated teamwork across student recruitment and digital campaigns."

He added: “AUB has innovation at its core, and projects like our Instagram prospectus, a world first, show that we live our values in all that we do, including our Marketing.”

The wins build on AUB’s past successes last year at HEIST 2021, where the team was shortlisted for six awards, winning a Silver Award for Marketing Team of the Year and a Bronze Award for Best Website.
