Net Sensors

Industry-engagement and our strong maker culture puts collaboration at the heart of everything we do.

Net Sensors

Supported by European Regional Development Funding (ERDF).

Net Sensors is a manufacturing and service business for companies developing Internet of Things products. Its innovative production process inhabits the space that lies in-between prototyping and large scale manufacture. This makes their services affordable by smaller businesses who face barriers to innovation with minimum order quantities and expensive R&D costs.

In 2018, Doug Mahy, an experienced electronics engineer and founder of Net Sensors, was awarded an AUB-ERDF Innovation grant to develop capabilities for in-house circuit board production. The grant helped the business to bring in a new pick-and-place machine to develop and test improved accuracy of circuit board production.

Net Sensors have also benefitted from access to our digital fabrication workshop using our SLS 3D printer to prototype IoT casing for their client, Squidsoup.

European Regional Development Funds

This project is supported through match-funding by the England European Regional Development Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. This fund was established by the European Union to help local areas stimulate their economic development. This investment will help to support innovation, businesses, skills and employment to improve local growth and create jobs. For more information visit www.gov.uk/european-growth-funding.
