About this course

This highly practical course has been specially developed for those who already have some jewellery making experience and are looking to advance their skills.

It’s been designed to give you the space, tools, and guidance to consolidate the techniques you’ve previously gained and elevate your skills through a series of projects that are designed to expand your soldering, annealing, texturing, piercing, sawing, and designing skills.

Across this course you’ll renew and consolidate your understanding of the fundamental principles of jewellery making. You’ll build on your existing knowledge and finesse your skills working with the piercing saw, hammers, pliers, blowtorch, and polishing machine.

Each session will cover a specific area of jewellery making, with examples and tutor led demonstrations as well as a recap of techniques in the morning. This will be followed by a specific project designed to practice specific skills and enhance your design and practical skills in the second half of the day. You’ll design and create your own pieces of jewellery in a relaxed atmosphere under close guidance and direction of your experienced tutor, Yvette Cannon.
