AUB Applicant Access Bursary

We want to make experiencing Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) in person as easy as possible.

If you’re travelling 50 miles or more for an Open Day or Offer Holder Event, we may be able to help contribute towards the costs of your travel, so you get to enjoy coming to see us that little bit more.

How much could you be entitled to?

The AUB Applicant Access Bursary amount depends on the distance travelled to the University and is calculated by AUB. The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from your registered home postcode to our campus (postcode BH12 5HH).

Please note: no money will be paid on the day you visit.

Terms and conditions

  • You can apply if you have attended one of our Undergraduate Open Days from 26 September 2026 onwards. You can only claim for the AUB Applicant Access Bursary once.
  • The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from the registered home postcode on your booking form to our AUB campus (postcode BH12 5HH).
    • If you live 50–99 miles away, you'll be eligible for a £25 bursary.
    • If you live 100–149 miles away, you'll be eligible for a £50 bursary.
    • If you live 150 miles away or more, you'll be eligible for a £75 bursary.
  • To claim, you must complete the AUB Applicant Access Bursary form, which will be sent out to eligible students after the event you've attended.
  • Funding is capped for each eligible activity and therefore applying early is recommended to avoid disappointment.
  • The AUB Applicant Access Bursary is only available for your journey to one of the specified events, travelling directly to and from our campus.
  • Payment is made to the prospective student only. Guests aren't eligible to claim the travel reimbursement.
  • You may need to provide ID and proof of address with your AUB Applicant Access Bursary form. Acceptable forms of ID include a bank card, student card, driving licence or passport.
  • The claim will only be processed once attendance to the event has been verified by a member of our Events team.
  • Accommodation, refreshments and parking can't be claimed for.
  • You'll need a UK bank account to receive a travel bursary payment. You must enter your own bank details on the form. If the bank details don't match the attendee’s name on the form, the payment can't be processed.
  • Claims can be submitted up to two weeks after the event has passed. Any claims submitted after this date won't be processed. There's a limited amount of funding available for each eligible activity, so once the allocated funding limit has been reached, we'll be unable to process any additional claims for that event.
  • Payment will be made within one month of the two-week post-event deadline.

Accepting the AUB Applicant Access Bursary doesn't commit you to applying to AUB and/or accepting AUB as your Firm or Insurance choice. It also doesn't guarantee that we'll be able to offer you a study place if we haven't already done so.
