Study Abroad and Exchange

Interior Architecture and Design

AUB offers students the opportunity to explore their creative practice while broadening their horizons.

Interior Architecture and Design

Semester Study Abroad courses are for students and professionals who wish to spend time abroad, developing their creative skills and gaining credits towards their university degree, but don't necessarily want to spend 2-3 years in another country.

Course Information

This exciting and challenging Semester Study Abroad Interior Architecture and Design course offers the opportunity to unlock your creative potential and explore innovations of interior design. Adapt, refurbish, re-use and recycle existing buildings and the stories captured within them, the meaning and identity and quality of materials, light sound and above all the needs of the people for whom you are designing.

Depending on the term you choose to study with us, you will explore alternative solutions to contemporary design problems. You will look at the architectural interpretation of three-dimensional interior spaces and investigate the fundamental principles and ecological context that govern the types of buildings and spaces and have the opportunity to further develop your key drawing skills for the processes of design and communication. You will become familiar with the more detailed processes that come together in the construction of a small-scale, ‘domestic’ structure.

You will develop your flair and creativity, enabling you to fully realise your potential as a professional designer. You will be allowed more specialised study within your particular areas of interest and building upon your awareness of design within the wider community.
