Victoria Romano

I am a printer who uses only manual techniques, especially screen printing. In my process, I always start by making drawings and afterwards take inspiration from them to make the mark-making, decide which colours would be more suitable for my palette and repeat patterns to produce my prints. I am a printer who creates with mixed media – for example using paper manipulation, wood and fabrics to produce abstract, colourful designs with different themes such as elegant and cheerful atmospheres in the products.

My Final Major Project was inspired by using different geometrical forms from English architecture. The focus of this project was experimenting with print techniques such as foiling, metallic and normal pigments and putting them together to create more interesting outcomes. In this project I have been focusing more on fabric and wood and how I can produce more abstract and colourful designs. In my Major Project, I made three-dimensional pieces with wood, meanwhile with fabrics I used different printing techniques, such as foiling metallic and normal pigments, that help to build interesting effects in the products.

Plans after degree

After graduating I plan to expand my portfolio, also to get a job to gain further knowledge in the textiles and interiors industry.
