Trial of a Pope

When rumours spread of Pope Stephen’s illegitimate child with the Emperor’s sister, he must make a choice. Lose everything: his position, his lover, his child, or find a scapegoat. Coerced into action, Pope Stephen orders the exhumation and trial of his predecessor Formosus – who's been dead for seven months.
