My last project at university explored the themes of two cultures uniting through marriage, exploring key imagery taken from England and Bangladesh, using landmarks such as The Pink Palace, The Ali Amjad Clock Tower and The Keane Bridge, as well as British nature to inform this collection. 

This project holds a very special place in my heart and celebrates all that has changed in my life during my time studying, through personal significance and the use of industry specific techniques and processes. I have centred this project around techniques I wish to pursue in my professional career, such as digitalised print and pattern creation and hand/machine embroidery. Designs were created using hand-painted gouache motifs as well as imagery taken from my wedding Mendhi.

Having an extreme interest in interior textile design, I wish to pursue a career in digitalised wallpapers and embroidery processes like CAD and hand-based designs. During my design process, I enjoy working from initial gouache paintings, which are then refined further through design software. I would love to create digital designs for interior applications like upholstery and soft furnishings. Working and experimenting with a lot of hand processes during my time at AUB, I would also see myself working in a field where a lot of these processes are combined into one to create unique interior applications.
