Hi, my name is Mitena Bing Chen and I am British Chinese. I primarily work in visual development and background design, with experience in prop and character design as well. My art strongly emphasises storytelling, using dynamic shapes and vibrant colours to bring ideas to life. 

During my final year, I contributed to multiple animated films, gaining valuable and diverse experiences. In this showcase, I present a mix of personal and collaborative projects. 

The first few pieces showcase my exploration of visual development centred around fish, followed by some collaborative work, and concluding with a range of character designs.

After graduating, I’m going into visual development and background design in the animation industry through finding studio work, internships, or freelance work. I’m ready to take on opportunities and put myself out there by meeting new people through volunteering and attending art festivals. I want to keep challenging myself and pour my heart into everything as I strive to become a better artist.
