I'm a textile designer exploring strong, bold, innovative uses of colour, creating cohesive collections that are energetic and refreshing. Specialising in techniques including 3D manipulation, CAD embroidery, digital print and laser cutting, I aim to create designs that have a playful and energetic tone to bring a sense of fun to my work. My key inspirations include exploring colour and abstract shape in innovative ways, combining digital and physical textiles practices to create refined designs that embody the spaces I design for.
Lights, Camera, Nostalgia! is a textile project exploring CMF design for a cinema context. The concept was to explore a theme of nostalgia and playfulness through my use of colour and shape. I explored subject matter such as disco balls, slinky, Rubik's Cubes and lights to help convey this theme. It allowed me to play with geometric shapes, bold colours and light/reflection. I developed a range of samples using techniques including digital print, CAD embroidery and 3D manipulation to create a collection that could be applied to a bespoke cinema setting, creating an exciting, lively environment.
