Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a UK-based artist and illustrator with a background in fine art and education. I specialise in portraiture, using carefully considered composition and expressive detail to create visual narratives. I enjoy getting to know my subjects and exploring the stories they have to tell. My recent work focuses on celebrities who use their public platforms to champion important causes and contribute to social or political change, alongside ordinary people with passionate beliefs and a strong sense of identity.

My practice is rooted in painting, with watercolour forming a central part of my work. In recent years, I have also developed my digital drawing and spray-painting skills, creating highly rendered and detailed imagery across a range of formats and scales. I am currently seeking opportunities to further develop my portfolio in mural painting and site-specific illustration.

Alongside murals, I am available for editorial, advertising and publishing commissions, and I am open to a wide range of creative collaborations. My previous work includes murals, album artwork and children’s book illustration.

I'm on the look out for commissions (editorial, advertorial and murals) and will be applying to different illustration agencies to support this. I also run popular community art workshops in Poole, which I will be looking to expand on and maybe open an art café in a few years! 

Other than that, I am looking forward to getting back to my fine art practice – getting my hands dirty with clay, exploring processes in my sketchbook and finishing making a shirt from a Zanzibar kanga!
