I discovered a passion for dance artist in 2014, encouraged by my mother who recognised my natural interest and enjoyment in movement. That same year, I joined Studio N16, beginning a transformative journey in dance. In 2020, I pursued a musical theatre course in college, further expanding my repertoire by mastering diverse dance styles that honed my skills and versatility.
A visual learner by nature, I thrive by observing, experimenting, and recreating choreography from classes, social media and live performances. This adaptive approach to learning has fuelled my creative growth, enabling me to blend technique with personal expression. With a solid foundation from years of dedicated training, I continue to develop my artistry, embodying the joy and discipline of dance in every step.
In my final major project, I created a short film titled Kintsugi, an autobiographical project that I have created and directed, which is something I don’t usually do. My project allowed me to explore being in charge and directing what happens in my piece while instructing others participating in it what to do. It was a fascinating experience that helped me understand my role as a director and creating the project helped express my inner thoughts onto the camera.
Plans after degree
I would like to continue to develop as a dancer and performer and join a dance company.
