I am an aspiring costume maker who has worked on a wide variety of projects, from tailoring to pantomime. 

I was privileged to be able to attend work experience on an upcoming Disney feature film, and be invited back afterwards for paid work. During this time, I was able to learn about how the industry works and I was introduced to the leatherworking team, which kindly took me on and taught me all about the skill of leatherwork, including cutting, texturing, dyeing and finishing. I met so many talented people and to be able to learn from them was an amazing experience. 

I created a three-piece tailored tailcoat suit for Gastone in the Hurn Court Opera's portrayal of La Traviata. I worked on the Oxford Playhouse's Dick Whittington where I made wacky, colourful shirts and a jacket for the character of Damien Allbran. Throughout university, I have made a 1920s-style dress inspired by Dora Carrington of the Bloomsbury group and a texture-focused experimental 1770s bodice inspired by urban decay. I also worked with the Women of Dorset on their production of Unearthed. I made a medieval dress with hanging sleeves and an 1850s gown. I have developed specific skills such as draping on the stand, use of specialist machines and breakdown projects.

I would like to continue to work in costume. I am interested in learning more about leatherworking and following that route.
