A wellness centre located on Bournemouth beach, with the aim of acting as an interim space for those on the NHS wait list, specifically those waiting for mental health services. 

The centre aims to alleviate the strain which the NHS is currently going through due to underfunding and staff shortage. Through the use of alternative practices such as chromotherapy and aromatherapy, and events such as ‘tea and talk’, the objective is to create a safe space which can help relieve anxiety and depression as the patients move up the wait list. The site seeks to produce a community within the wellness centre which will be achieved through various hosted activities. 

As well as this, connecting with the wider Bournemouth community will be attained by using local farmer groceries in the cafe, and also hosting a pop-up coffee stand in front of the building to help encourage people to the centre.

I plan to have a relaxing summer whilst searching for interior design jobs with the hopes of working for a practice in London, which has opportunities for me to grow as a designer and as a person.
