I am most invested when working as a character designer as I always enjoy and thrive when translating the written information and characteristics within a visual language and design. This often includes how the character is built, how the character dresses and even how they compose themselves around other.
Based on the skills I have been harnessing and improving for the past three years of education, I often utilise my affinity in shape language, gesture, anatomy and colour theory. All this is in effort to create a design most appealing to audiences and for the animation pipeline.
Two other interests that I particularly find interesting is storyboarding and character animation. Starting with storyboarding, I find that I am interested when it comes to laying the groundwork of a scene and translating the verbal actions into clean and readable visuals. This also stems from my use of perspective, composition, pacing and lighting as I find all of them instrumental to a good storyboard.
As for character animation, I am still Incredibly interested in the likes of character performance, gesture, timing and visual design. As this mainly extends from the principle of me always making a character design I would want to animate. So, this often results in me being invested in how the character will move when talking or walking, or any other reaction that requires a performance.
Plans after degree
I hope that within the future I can work within the animation or gaming industry and even possibly create and direct and/or produce my own series.
