Ella Wharton

Ella Wharton is a passionate and dedicated dance artist whose commitment to continuous growth has shaped her journey both as a performer and teacher. During her time at AUB, she's thrived within the course's supportive environment, encouraging her to challenge her creative and technical ability. During her studies, Ella’s confidence has grown as she's strengthened her artistic voice, embracing a more somatic approach to movement.

From a young age, she regularly attended amateur dance classes where she was introduced to a variety of dance styles in an inclusive environment that prioritised confidence building and self-expression.

In 2016, Ella began attending West End Kids training in London, where she discovered a love for acting and live performance. This experience fuelled her enthusiasm for performance, reinforcing her desire to communicate stories through movement. Contemporary dance remains her favourite artistic focus, drawn to its freedom, versatility and ability to connect to audiences through powerful narratives.

Alongside her creative practice, Ella's deeply committed to teaching. Outside university, she coaches dance and sport within primary schools, where she discovered a passion for inspiring and supporting young people. Known for her compassionate and encouraging teaching style, Ella finds great fulfilment in helping children develop confidence, unlock their potential and believe in their own abilities. Witnessing their growth and self-belief continues to be one of the most rewarding aspects.

Plans after degree

Following graduation, Ella's undertaking a PGCE in Secondary Dance at the University of Chichester to achieve her Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This next step will enable her to continue to share her passion and joy for dance with the younger generation. Through her nurturing teaching style, Ella's committed to empowering young people through creative movement and self-expression, encouraging individuality in every aspect of her practice.
