Hi, I’m Ebony. I’m a joyful, open-minded dance artist who thrives in all aspects of performance practice.

My journey in dance began at the age of four and sparked a lifelong passion for movement. I was a dedicated member of Hot Steps Dance School Dorchester for 10 years before furthering my training with Julie Storey dance school. During this time, I performed in numerous shows with both companies, honing my stage presence and versatility. I later studied performing arts at Weymouth college, where I developed a broad skillset across a range of disciplines.

My confidence, leadership skills, and ability to work well in a team make me an asset to any creative project. Highly receptive to direction, I ensure my practice continues to evolve. As part of my final year's Live Professional unit, I engaged in a research and development process to create a performance piece based around the theme of introspection. I also took responsibility for direction, choreography, research, lighting and costume design.

For my final project, I focused on ways in which we can support the physical and mental well-being of dancers and athletes. I conducted primary and secondary research to inform my practice, resulting in the creation of a dedicated website offering resources to aid training and recovery.

Plans after degree

I am proud of the work in my final project and plan to expand on it in future practice. I am particularly interested in deepening my research into psychology to better understand the mental and physical health needs of physically active individuals. The additional training and experience at AUB has supported me in achieving my ambition of becoming a well-rounded, accomplished dance artist.

I’m planning to move to London to pursue work as an entertainment performer. London has a huge variety of opportunities in theatre, dance, and live events, which makes it an ideal place to develop my skills and gain experience. I’m excited to audition, make connections with people in the industry, and build my career in a creative and vibrant environment. Moving to London feels like the right step to take my performance career to the next level.
