For my final project, I created a victorian fancy dress costume. I designed and created it to be worn at the 1851 Stuart Ball held by Queen Victoria. The overall silhouette is mid-Victorian with the period undergarments including a corset I created. The trims and embellishments are specifically inspired by the 1660s.
Additionally, I worked on Rani Lacy (Fit for a Queen), a collaborative project with some of my fellow peers and the National Trust, Kingston Lacy. For this project, I patterned and sewed the robe à la Française, the outer skirt and bodice of the gown. This was an incredible opportunity to help on this project and I am very grateful.
Plans after degree
I will continue developing my sewing skills and hope to work making costumes in the film/TV industry.
