Electric Dreams
Exploring the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and digital innovation, my final collection uses textiles to critique and reflect on the role of AI in design.
Influenced by geometric abstraction and the feminist digital art exhibition Radical Software, the collection investigates how technology shapes creativity and originality while also distorting ideas of ownership and authorship. Specialising in digital print, CAD embroidery, and laser cutting, I created a futuristic aesthetic, contrasting it with hand embellishment to emphasise the human touch. While AI tools informed the early visual development, the project ultimately celebrates the irreplaceable value of human intuition, decision-making and craft.
Plans after degree
I look forward to further exploring the textiles and fashion industry, expanding my portfolio, and gaining more hands-on experience. I’m particularly interested in working with accessories, with a focus on digital print and laser cutting.
