Ripon Road
Growing up in an isolated rural area with little to do, I often found myself in the homes of friends, family, and partners. This exposure to the complex and unique dynamics of various households has long fascinated me. Now, as an independent adult living with a chosen family, I channeled this awareness into Ripon Road, documenting my own domestic space and exploring a sense of belonging. Through this exploration, I aim to capture the nuanced, intimate moments that define the home and the relationships that grow and change within it.
This body of work seeks to re-establish the family album, capturing the essence of home and family in a contemporary context, juxtaposing the notion of only documenting celebrations, important moments, birthdays, etc., typical of a lot of family photo albums. Ripon Road aims to delve into and explore as well as romanticise the repetitive stability of the domestic environment.
