Amitte Diem

Amitte Diem is a Swedish writer, director and producer who's obsessed with staying inside discomfort; a narrative gold mine, as far as she’s concerned. Luckily, as a disabled lesbian, she has no shortage of awkward things said to her to draw inspiration from.

Amitte Diem's background is in animation and visual art, and her previous work includes I’ve Had Some Really Nice Rejections (2026) and Frenemy (2025). She's also the founder of production company Is This Relevant – the question she asks herself before commencing any creative project. She lives in London with her wife and cat.

Relax (2026)

A traumedy about rape culture and a toxic ex that should have stayed in 2009 but instead resides in the back of your mind.

A short film in which one actress (Zora Owen) plays all six roles – including the two in a relationship with each other. A kaleidoscopic stroll through an awful memory lane, replete with highly questionable 2009 fashion, Relax is a darkly funny and surreal story about memory, consent and gaslighting.

Shot with a smartphone in her own house, in addition to writing, directing, and producing, Amitte also set-designed the film; a process that included turning her art studio into a gynaecologist's office, and painting black mould onto her bedroom ceiling.
